One of the most powerful ways to fight hunger is by raising your voice. Learn how.

Prevent a Shutdown. Protect Nutrition Programs.

As Congress works to pass legislation to fund the federal government by September 30, 2025, we urge lawmakers to reach a bipartisan agreement that fully funds critical federal nutrition programs. Fully funding these programs does more than fill pantries. It strengthens families, supports farmers, and builds healthier, more resilient communities. Every dollar invested helps ensure dignity, opportunity, and stronger local economies. According to Feeding America’s 2025 Elevating Voices: Insights Report, 80% of people experiencing hunger say it is important that anti-hunger policies support their dignity and provide choice in how they feed their families.

Contact your representatives in Congress today and urge them to prevent a shutdown and protect nutrition programs that millions of families rely on.

SNAP Cuts Passed. Our Commitment Remains.

On July 4, 2025, Congress approved deep cuts to vital food assistance programs like SNAP, leaving millions across the country – including tens of thousands here in Iowa – facing new challenges in putting food on the table. This decision is a painful setback at a time when food insecurity is already rising.

We are deeply disappointed. Yet amid the frustration, there is resolve. Iowa’s food banks distributed more than 60 million meals in 2024 alone, a record that reflects both the soaring need and the unwavering commitment of our communities.

At the Northeast Iowa Food Bank, we will not stop. We will continue to fight hunger and provide hope, and with your support, we will remain a place of stability and care for those who need it most.
